Evacuations have been underway since early Tuesday in the community of Jasper, Alberta, after an emergency alert was issued over a wildfire threatening the area southern flank.
Dire Situation
The fire, spread by high winds, has forced approximately 5,000 residents and visitors to flee. The municipality of Jasper, including the popular Jasper National Park, is now under an evacuation order.
