Newcastle Success Will Take 'A Lot Longer' As Howe Faces Transfer Angst

The Magpies Are Yet To Sign Any New Players

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has admitted that the club's success will take "a lot longer" after a frustrating transfer window so far. The Magpies are yet to sign any new players this summer, despite being linked with a number of high-profile targets.

Frustrating Window So Far

Howe has been left frustrated by the lack of activity in the transfer market, and he has admitted that it will be difficult to challenge for a top-four finish this season without some new additions.

"We're still a long way off where we want to be," Howe said. "We need to improve the squad, and we need to do it quickly. But it's not going to be easy. The transfer market is very difficult at the moment, and there are a lot of clubs competing for the same players.

"We're not going to be able to just go out and buy whoever we want. We need to be smart about our recruitment, and we need to make sure that we're getting players who are going to improve the team."

Newcastle Linked with a Number of Targets

Newcastle have been linked with a number of players this summer, including Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, and Lille defender Sven Botman. However, the Magpies have yet to make any concrete progress on any of these deals.

Howe is hopeful that the club will be able to sign some new players before the end of the transfer window, but he has warned that it will not be easy.

Need To Be Patient

"We need to be patient," Howe said. "We're not going to be able to turn things around overnight. It's going to take time, and it's going to take a lot of hard work. But I'm confident that we can get there eventually."
